Yellow Iris II

A poem by Mediana Stan, illustrated by Szitai György-Ferenc, translated by Rafael Manory

In the morning, Mr. Beaver
Throws himself into the river.
Swims to the reeds, through water cold,
Snatches the iris of gold.

On his back he floats in silence
Using his flat paws for balance.
Brings the iris to his nose,
Its perfume is... gorgeous.
